Safety guidance

A little clarity, when you need it.

Roadside safety and account help.

Your safety comes first.

RecoveryGo is a recovery marketplace, not an emergency service. If there is an immediate danger to life, call 999.

If you break down on a motorway, follow the official Highway Code guidance for your situation. Do not use this app while driving.

What does “motorway escalation” mean?

A motorway job is flagged for priority attention. If no operator is assigned within five minutes, the duty dispatcher is alerted to review the situation and contact the customer. It is not an automatic call to the emergency services or a promise of recovery within five minutes.

The local dispatcher workspace receives these alerts and records acknowledgement. External SMS or call escalation needs provider setup before live operation.

Sign in with your mobile number.

Enter your UK mobile number to receive a six-digit code by SMS. Enter the code in the app or website to sign in. If it expires, request a new code. Never share your code with anyone.

Your vehicles and recoveries are linked to your verified number. Sign out from your account when using a shared device. Recovery dispatch is not yet available.

Location, with your permission.

Your browser asks permission when you choose “Use my location”. In this build, your draft position stays in the page until you submit a request and consent to sharing it with eligible operators and the dispatcher. Submitted job details are stored for the recovery. You can enter a UK postcode instead and choose a matching location as you type. Postcodes identify an area; confirm your exact roadside position with your operator.

Postcode search sends the postcode you type to Postcodes.io through our server, without your account details. The map provider receives the map area and your network address when loading tiles. An assigned operator can choose to share GPS while the page is open. The customer sees when the last position arrived, including stale or missing updates. A browser cannot guarantee background tracking.

Privacy retention periods, insurance wording and operator status require legal review before launch.
